Mountain Walking in Wales
For Mountain Walking in Mid Wales the local Peak - Plynlimon where you find the The Source of the Severn is the highest point of the Cambrian Mountains in Wales, and the highest point in Mid Wales.
Heading out from Llanidloes over the Short Bridge the car park for the start of the walk is just a few miles through the Countryside, you can find a range of other walks starting from the same car park including the Source of the Wye, and the Breaks Its Neck walk.
The Source of the Severn is a Seven Mile walk winding the way up the Mountain through a mix of woodlands following the river to the summit, good footware is reccomended for the Peat Bog at the top.
Views are spectacular and you are often above Birds of Prey such as the Red Kite.
